Pakistan left-arm fast bowler Usman Shinwari said many domestic players are being “forced to leave the country” due to a lack of opportunities at the international level.

He noted that many domestic players have performed well for years, but continue to be overlooked by the selectors.

This has a profoundly negative effect on their outlook for the future, which subsequently causes them to take drastic actions like moving to other nations.

“The domestic cricketers are forced to leave the country,” Shinwari was quoted as saying by Geo Super.

The Pakistan team recently featured in the 2024 T20 World Cup and lost to the United States of America and India before fighting back to take down Canada and Ireland.

Even though they ended the group stage on a high, the men in green were unable to book their spot in the Super Eights.
