Sanjay Manjrekar: “Haris Rauf is on a downward curve”

Former India batsman Sanjay Manjrekar believes Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf’s bowling has been “on a downward curve”.
Rauf had been criticised for failing to take wickets regularly and leaking too many runs prior to the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he suffered a dislocated shoulder.
After spending a lengthy period on the sidelines, the 30-year-old returned and looked a lot better, taking five wickets in two T20Is against England at an average of 14.40 and an economy rate of 9.60.
He then featured in the 2024 T20 World Cup and snapped up seven wickets in four games at an average of 14.42 and an economy rate of 6.73.
Despite showing signs of improvement in the past couple of months, Manjrekar is still not convinced about Rauf and feels he is not performing at his best yet.
“Haris Rauf is on a downward curve,” he was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
Pakistan lost to the United States of America and India in the T20 World Cup before rebounding to take down Canada and Ireland.
Even though they claimed those two wins, it was not enough to see them through to the Super Eights.
