Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria believes veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik “is a better player” than most of the cricketers in the team right now.
Malik is 42 years old, but hasn’t shown any indication of wanting to retire from international cricket.
Given the Sialkot native’s vast experience and interest in playing for Pakistan, Kaneria suggested that the senior stalwart be given another chance.
“Shoaib Malik is a better player than these guys [in the current squad],” he told Sports Now as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.
The Pakistan team recently featured in the 2024 T20 World Cup and lost to the United States of America and India before rebounding to beat Canada and Ireland.
Despite winning those two games, it didn’t stop the men in green from being eliminated in the group stage of the competition.
