Bangladesh opening batsman Tamim Iqbal wants to see legendary Pakistan big-hitter Shahid Afridi mentoring the men in green following their dismal performance in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Pakistan lost to the United States of America and India before bouncing back to beat Canada and Ireland.
However, their back-to-back victories went in vain and they were subsequently eliminated in the group stage of the tournament.
Tamim conceded it was disappointing to see Pakistan fall well short of expectations and urged Afridi to guide them back to the top.
“Feel sad to see Pakistan get eliminated from T20 WC. Hope they come well next time and have seniors like Shahid Afridi to show the way,” he said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
