Legendary Pakistan speedster Waqar Younis has heaped praise on fast bowler Naseem Shah, saying he “always takes the big wickets”.
Waqar also lauded Naseem for his talent and for being “hardworking”, which has no doubt contributed to his success at the international level.
Despite only being 21 years old, Naseem has already established himself as a key member of Pakistan’s pace attack in all three formats and usually shares the new ball with Shaheen Shah Afridi.
“Naseem Shah is very talented, he is very hardworking. Naseem always takes the big wickets, he removes the top order batters,” Waqar was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Naseem was recently in action for Pakistan in the 2024 T20 World Cup and took five wickets in three matches at an average of 14.20 and an economy rate of 5.91.
The men in green began by losing to the United States of America and India before fighting back to beat Canada and Ireland.
Despite ending the group stage on a high, Pakistan were unable to progress to the Super Eights.
