Legendary Pakistan captain and all-rounder Imran Khan has blasted Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi, saying he was appointed to the role “on contacts and recommendation”.
Imran, who previously served as Pakistan’s Prime Minister, added that Naqvi “has no credibility” and shouldn’t be leading the country’s cricket board.
“Mohsin Naqvi should himself undergo surgery who has no credibility and has been appointed on contacts and recommendation,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The Pakistan team recently featured in the 2024 T20 World Cup and began their campaign with a shock loss to the United States of America before tasting defeat in a low-scoring thriller against India.
The men in green bounced back to beat Canada and Ireland to end the group stage on a high, but their victories went in vain as they failed to advance to the Super Eights.
