Former England captain Michael Vaughan has admitted that Pakistan “do not believe they can beat India”.
His comments come after the two rivals faced each other in the 2024 T20 World Cup, where the men in blue claimed a six-run win despite defending a total of 120.
Many cricketers, both current and former, thought this was the best chance for the men in green to triumph over India, but they succumbed to the pressure.
Vaughan, meanwhile, attributed the team’s loss to a lack of belief and confidence.
“Pakistan, they… do not believe they can beat India. Simple as that,” he said on the Club Prairie Fire podcast as quoted by Geo Super.
The men in green kicked off their T20 World Cup campaign with back-to-back losses to the United States of America and India before picking up wins over Canada and Ireland.
However, those victories went in vain as they were eliminated in the group stage of the tournament.
