Better stats than Virat Kohli, Kamran Akmal on Pakistan batsman who hasn’t played international cricket since 2019

Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal said his brother Umar Akmal has better stats than Virat Kohli

Kamran Akmal: “In World T20s, Umar has got better stats than Virat Kohli. He (Umar) is not even close to Virat Kohli when it comes to performances and aura but has got [a] better strike-rate, [higher] score than Kohli in the T20 World Cups”

Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal said his brother, Umar Akmal, “has got better stats” than India batting maestro Virat Kohli in T20 World Cups.

Kamran added that Umar possesses a superior strike-rate and a “[higher] score than Kohli” as he made 94 against Australia in the 2014 T20 World Cup.

Kohli’s top score of 89 not out came against the West Indies in the 2016 edition of the tournament.

Kamran pointed out that Kohli would have been “taunted” had he shared these statistics on social media.

“I received the stats yesterday, I am talking about Umar [Akmal]. In World T20s, Umar has got better stats than Virat Kohli. He (Umar) is not even close to Virat Kohli when it comes to performances and aura but has got [a] better strike-rate, [higher] score than Kohli in the T20 World Cups,” he was quoted as saying by Geo Super.

“And since we don’t have PR companies we don’t share our stats and performances on social media. Imagine if these stats would have been in the name of any of these 15 players. There must have been a storm by now. I won’t be surprised if they would have taunted Virat Kohli.”

The Pakistan team recently featured in the 2024 T20 World Cup and lost to the United States of America and India before rebounding to beat Canada and Ireland.

Even though they won those two games, they ended up being eliminated in the group stage of the competition.

India, meanwhile, will play South Africa in the final in Barbados on June 29.
