Former Pakistan head coach Misbah-ul-Haq has vented his anger at limited overs captain Babar Azam for his “casual approach” and “timid [captaincy]”, saying it “looked like we left everything on God”.
His comments come after the men in green endured a horrendous campaign in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Pakistan began with back-to-back losses to the United States of America and India before bouncing back to beat Canada and Ireland.
Despite this, it was not enough for the team to secure a spot in the Super Eights.
“Very casual approach, timid [captaincy]. It looked like we left everything on God and ended up getting dominated,” Misbah said on Ten Sports as quoted by NDTV.
Azam was Pakistan’s leading run-scorer in the T20 World Cup with 122 runs in four matches at an average of 40.66 and a strike-rate of 101.66.
