Shoaib Malik: “The most important thing which needs to be fixed is Babar’s captaincy. From four years ago and now, I cannot see any difference”

Veteran Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik believes he has seen no improvement at all in Babar Azam when it comes to his captaincy skills.
Malik noted that the 29-year-old is still in the same place he was four years ago and hasn’t made an ounce of progress.
His comments come after the men in green had a disastrous campaign in the 2024 T20 World Cup, which further fanned the flames of doubt about whether Azam is the right man to lead Pakistan.
“The most important thing which needs to be fixed is Babar’s captaincy. From four years ago and now, I cannot see any difference,” he was quoted as saying by A Sports.
“If someone is improving then you give them time because the results will be seen in the long run but in Babar’s case, as a leader, he is still where he was four years ago.”
Azam scored 122 runs in four T20 World Cup matches at an average of 40.66 and a strike-rate of 101.66.
Pakistan lost to the United States and India in the tournament before claiming consecutive wins over Canada and Ireland.
However, those victories went in vain as the men in green were eliminated in the group stage.
