Yasir Arafat: “Shaheen Afridi’s form and pace seem to be returning”

Former Pakistan all-rounder Yasir Arafat admitted he is glad to see bowling spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi’s pace returning.
Late last year and earlier this year, the 24-year-old was heavily criticised for the decrease in his bowling speed, with some questioning whether he was fully fit or being overworked.
However, Afridi’s form and pace have slowly returned to normal levels, which is undoubtedly a major relief for Pakistan and Arafat as well.
“Shaheen Afridi’s form and pace seem to be returning,” he told Cricket Pakistan.
Afridi recently represented Pakistan in the 2024 T20 World Cup and finished with five wickets in four matches at an average of 21 and an economy rate of 6.56.
Pakistan lost their first two games against the United States of America and India before bouncing back to defeat Canada and Ireland.
Despite ending the group stage with a 2-2 record, the men in green failed to progress to the Super Eights.
