Former West Indies pace bowler Ian Bishop believes Pakistan big-hitting batsman Mohammad Haris should be playing for the national team right now.
Haris used to be an automatic selection, but inconsistent performances saw the selectors lose faith in him. As a result, the 23-year-old last represented his country in September 2023.
However, given how some of the current Pakistan batsmen are struggling, Bishop believes it is time for the Peshawar native to get another opportunity to prove his worth.
“Mohammad Haris is another guy. He is not in the reckoning as they left him back home. He is another guy who should play for them,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Haris was not part of Pakistan’s team for the 2024 T20 World Cup, where the men in green lost to the United States of America and India before bouncing back to defeat Canada and Ireland.
Despite winning their final two group stage matches, Pakistan failed to advance to the Super Eights and were eliminated from the competition.
