Former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja has put spinner Shadab Khan in his crosshairs, saying his bowling has fallen well short of expectations as of late.

Shadab hasn’t been able to take wickets regularly, which has been a growing concern for the men in green as he is their first-choice spinner.

In the five-match T20I series against New Zealand, the 25-year-old took three wickets at an average of 18 and an economy rate of 6.75.

He then featured in one T20I against Ireland, but went wicketless and gave away 54 runs off the four overs he bowled.

Following this, he played in the four-match T20I series against England and failed to take any wickets in the two games he was involved in. To make matters worse, he conceded 75 runs off the seven overs he bowled.

“His bowling form is also not up to the mark,” Ramiz said on his YouTube channel as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.

Shadab is currently involved in the 2024 T20 World Cup, but once again, he has been unable to dismiss any batsmen. In fact, he didn’t even bowl in the matches against India and Canada.

Pakistan lost to the United States of America and India before claiming a seven-wicket win over Canada.

However, they will be eliminated in the group stage of the tournament and will play their final match against Ireland on June 16 in Lauderhill.
