Pakistan seamer Haris Rauf: “Making a comeback is not easy but if one has [delivered] performances in the past, it is not difficult for the team to select [him] again”

Pakistan pace bowler Haris Rauf had no doubt he would be selected again after returning from the dislocated shoulder that kept him out of action for a few months.
Rauf suffered the injury while playing for the Lahore Qalandars in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), but knew his spot in the Pakistan team was more than likely safe since he has regularly delivered strong performances in the past.
Now that he is fit and healthy again, the 30-year-old is starting to catch fire in the ongoing 2024 T20 World Cup.
In three games against the United States of America, India and Canada, Rauf has taken six wickets at an average of 14 and an economy rate of 7.63.
“Making a comeback is not easy but if one has [delivered] performances in the past, it is not difficult for the team to select [him] again,” he was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
Prior to the T20 World Cup, Rauf missed Pakistan’s five-match T20I series against New Zealand and three-match T20I series against Ireland.
He returned for the four T20Is against England and claimed five wickets in two games at an average of 14.40 and an economy rate of 9.60.
Pakistan lost their first two T20 World Cup matches against the United States of America and India before fighting back to take down Canada by seven wickets.
The men in green will be back in action on June 16 when they take on Ireland in Lauderhill.
