Iconic Australia batsman Matthew Hayden has lauded fellow big-hitting left-hander Fakhar Zaman, saying the Pakistan powerhouse is a dangerous striker of the ball.
Zaman has been in solid form over the past couple of months, scoring 104 runs in two T20Is against New Zealand, which included a top score of 61, at an average of 52 and a strike-rate of 133.33.
He then amassed 98 runs in three T20Is against Ireland, which included a top score of 78, at an average of 49 and a strike-rate of 168.96.
Following that, Pakistan played four T20Is against England and Zaman finished with 54 runs in two games at an average of 27 and a strike-rate of 180.
“You’ve got… Fakhar Zaman, who is dangerous left-hand striker of the ball,” Hayden told Star Sports as quoted by NDTV.
Currently, Zaman is featuring in the 2024 T20 World Cup and has registered scores of 11, 13 and 4 in the first three matches against the United States of America, India and Canada respectively.
Pakistan lost their first two games before bouncing back to beat Canada by seven wickets.
Next up for them will be a clash against Ireland in Lauderhill on June 16.
