Iconic Australia opener Matthew Hayden said Pakistan limited overs captain Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman are the “big three” for the men in green when it comes to batting.
All three players will be expected to fire in the 2024 T20 World Cup as they have been in solid form in the lead-up to the tournament.
Rizwan is set to open the batting, while Azam will most likely bat at number three and Zaman will come in at number four.
Like everyone else, Hayden knows how important it is for the trio to be in good form throughout the T20 World Cup as Pakistan will need to post big scores in order to win and qualify for the latter stages of the competition.
“Then at the top, you’ve got the big three that is Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The men in green recently played a five-match T20I series against New Zealand, which ended as a 2-2 draw, before going on to beat Ireland 2-1 in a three-match T20I series.
Following this, they played four T20Is against England and lost 2-0.
Pakistan’s first T20 World Cup game will be against the United States of America in Dallas on June 6.
