Salman Butt: “Haris has had plenty of opportunities and maybe he needs to ask himself about whether he has done justice to his chances and talent because he is extremely talented”

Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt believes power-hitter Mohammad Haris needs to be honest with himself and assess “whether he has done justice to his chances and talent”.
Haris was once a regular face in Pakistan’s T20I and ODI squads, but a string of poor performances resulted him in losing his spot.
As a result, he last represented his country in September 2023.
Salman admitted it is a real shame to see the situation the 23-year-old currently finds himself in as he is “extremely talented” and a clean striker of the ball.
However, with so many other players having leapfrogged him on the selection front, Salman conceded that the Peshawar native faces a long and difficult road back to the top.
“Haris has had plenty of opportunities and maybe he needs to ask himself about whether he has done justice to his chances and talent because he is extremely talented. His look is attractive because of the way he can strike the ball,” he said on YouTube channel as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.
The Pakistan team recently drew 2-2 in a five-match T20I series against New Zealand before triumphing 2-1 in their three-match T20I series against Ireland.
Next up for the men in green will be four T20Is against England from May 22 to May 30.
Following this, Pakistan will feature in the 2024 T20 World Cup, which will take place in the West Indies and United States of America from June 1 to 29.
Pakistan’s first T20 World Cup game will be against the United States of America in Dallas on June 6.
