Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah believes left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir can be highly beneficial for the national team if he is in top form.

Amir reversed his decision to retire from international cricket after the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and subsequently returned in the five-match T20I series against New Zealand.

In that series, he took three wickets in four games at an average of 28.66 and an economy rate of 8.32.

He then proceeded to feature in the three-match T20I series against Ireland and claimed two wickets in two games at an average of 38 and an economy rate of 9.50.

“Any player who contributes positively to Pakistan’s performance is pleasing for us. Amir has experience from playing in the leagues which is proving beneficial for the team,” Naseem was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

Pakistan’s next assignment will see them play four T20Is against England from May 22 to May 30.

After this, they will be involved in the 2024 T20 World Cup, which will take place in the West Indies and United States of America from June 1 to 29.

Pakistan’s first T20 World Cup game will be against the United States of America in Dallas on June 6.
