Former Pakistan batsman Bazid Khan wants to see Mohammad Haris in the national team as he believes the 23-year-old will “attack from ball one” and “won’t waste balls in [the] powerplay.”
Haris has been overlooked since September 2023 and with the 2024 T20 World Cup fast approaching, questions are being asked about whether he will make the cut.
Bazid hopes the Peshawar-born big-hitter does get selected as he can get the men in green off to quick starts.
“We talk about players who hit the ground running and score quickly, Mohammad Haris is one of those players. He won’t waste balls in [the] powerplay and [will] attack from ball one,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Pakistan recently played a five-match T20I series against New Zealand, which ended as a 2-2 draw.
Currently, they are involved in a three-match T20I series against Ireland, which is tied at 1-1 going into the third game on May 14.
Following the Ireland series, Pakistan will play four T20Is against England from May 22 to May 30.
