Bazid Khan: “If they want to go with a pace-bowling all-rounder, I could think of Aamer Jamal. He doesn’t have big records but stands up at big moments”

Former Pakistan batsman Bazid Khan believes the national selectors should consider picking pace-bowling all-rounder Aamer Jamal for the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Aamer burst onto the international scene with his outstanding performances in Pakistan’s three-match Test series against Australia from December 2023 to January 2024.
Since then, he has gone on to represent his country in T20Is as well, but has not had the same level of success.
Despite this, Bazid pointed out that the 27-year-old from Mianwali has a knack of rising to the occasion when it matters most.
“If they want to go with a pace-bowling all-rounder, I could think of Aamer Jamal. He doesn’t have big records but stands up at big moments,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Jamal was not selected for Pakistan’s recent five-match T20I series against New Zealand, which ended as a 2-2 draw.
He also didn’t make the cut for the ongoing T20I series against Ireland, which is tied at 1-1 going into the third game on May 14.
Following this, Pakistan will play four T20Is against England from May 22 to May 30.
The T20 World Cup will be held in the West Indies and United States of America from June 1 to 29.
