Pakistan spinner Shadab Khan: “I’m the sort of player who will look to make quick runs”

Pakistan spinner Shadab Khan said he always looks “to make quick runs”, regardless of what number he comes in to bat.
Shadab regularly finds himself batting in the middle or lower order, but is eager for a promotion up the order, especially after his performance in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he consistently batted in the top order.
The 25-year-old captained Islamabad United and finished with 305 runs in 12 matches, which included three fifties, at an average of 30.50 and a strike-rate of 142.52.
Following PSL 9, he made 63 runs in Pakistan’s five-match T20I series against New Zealand at an average of 31.50 and a strike-rate of 190.90.
Knowing that he can inflict serious damage with the bat, Shadab aims to bat higher up and stay there for a prolonged period of time.
“I’m the sort of player who will look to make quick runs,” he was quoted as saying by A Sports.
The Mianwali native is now involved in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Ireland, where the men in green find themselves 1-0 down after losing the first game by five wickets.
After this series, Pakistan will play four T20Is against England from May 22 to May 30.
