Legendary Pakistan spinner Mushtaq Ahmed said he is absolutely certain that limited overs captain Babar Azam is the number one batsman in the world.
Many former and current cricketers share the same view as Mushtaq considering how consistent Azam has been in the last few years.
The 29-year-old continues to be the men in green’s leading batsman despite having the added pressure of leading his side.
“Babar Azam is the number one batsman in the world,” Mushtaq told Cricket Pakistan.
Azam recently captained the men in green in their five-match T20I series against New Zealand and made 125 runs in five games, which included a top score of 69, at an average of 31.25 and a strike-rate of 138.88.
Next up for Pakistan will be a three-match T20I series against Ireland from May 10 to 14.
After that, they will play four T20Is against England from May 22 to May 30.
