Pakistan all-format assistant coach Azhar Mahmood said left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir and spin-bowling all-rounder Imad Wasim give the national team “an edge” as they can be used at any time and change the outcome of a match.

Amir and Imad both reversed their decisions to retire from international cricket recently and featured in the five-match T20I series against New Zealand.

Amir finished with three wickets in four matches at an average of 28.66 and an economy rate of 8.32, while Imad took one wicket in two games at an average of 37 and an economy rate of 7.40.

“With the return of Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim, we can use them any time which is an edge,” Mahmood was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

The T20I series between Pakistan and New Zealand ended as a 2-2 draw.
