Pakistan yorker king Zaman Khan has boldly claimed he is confident he can defend six runs in the final over of a match after training with the army.
Zaman was part of a group of 29 players that attended a fitness camp at the Pakistan Military Academy in Kakul, Abbottabad.
The 22-year-old from Mirpur noted that if he was previously able to defend eight runs in an over, he can concede even fewer runs now due to his improved fitness.
“I am enjoying this army training a lot. We are doing physical activities here which will prepare us for the upcoming series and events. If I used to defend 8 runs in the last [over] of the match, after this training I will be able to defend 6 runs too,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Zaman recently played for the Lahore Qalandars in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and took 11 wickets in nine matches at an average of 28.72 and an economy rate of 9.87.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a five-match T20I series against New Zealand in Rawalpindi and Lahore from April 18 to 27.
