Shahid Afridi: “They both are senior and experienced players; their presence will strengthen the Pakistan cricket team, and young cricketers will learn from them”

Iconic big-hitter Shahid Afridi wants left-arm speedster Mohammad Amir and spin-bowling all-rounder Imad Wasim selected as he feels they will “strengthen the Pakistan cricket team.”
Afridi has backed the duo after both of them recently reversed their decisions to retire from international cricket.
Having made themselves available for selection once again, it is likely that Amir and Imad will be picked for Pakistan’s five-match T20I series against New Zealand, which will be played in Rawalpindi and Lahore from April 18 to 27.
“They both are senior and experienced players; their presence will strengthen the Pakistan cricket team, and young cricketers will learn from them,” Afridi was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Amir was recently in action for the Quetta Gladiators in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and picked up 10 wickets in nine matches at an average of 28.60 and an economy rate of 8.41.
As for Imad, he played for Islamabad United and took 12 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 20.91 and an economy rate of 6.60.
He also did well with the bat, accumulating 126 runs, which included a top score of 59 not out, at an average of 21 and a strike-rate of 128.57.
