Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja has lashed out at big-hitting batsman Mohammad Haris, saying “he tries to play 300 shots on one delivery.”
Ramiz questioned when the 22-year-old will learn to bat sensibly so he doesn’t keep scoring around 20 runs all the time.
Haris was once considered to be a future star, but his hype has significantly died down due to his inconsistent performances.
Ramiz wants the Peshawar-born cricketer to start taking action now so that he can get his career back on track and serve Pakistan cricket in the future.
“Till when will Mohammad Haris keep scoring these 20-22 runs only? When will he learn? He tries to play 300 shots on one delivery,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Haris recently represented the Peshawar Zalmi in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and failed to impress as he was restricted to 142 runs in 10 games at an average of 15.77 and a strike-rate of 132.71.
The Zalmi made it through to the playoffs, but ended up being eliminated after losing to the Multan Sultans in the Qualifier and Islamabad United in Eliminator 2.
