Umar Gul has pointed out that Pakistan rely on the pace duo of Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah in the death overs.
The pair have become mainstays in the team and are consistently picked members of the pace attack.
Both bowlers have a knack of taking wickets when the men in green need one, which is why they often have the ball in their hands during the death overs.
“We rely on Naeem and Shaheen at [the] death,” Gul told the Pitch Side show as quoted by Cricwick.
The duo recently featured in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), with Afridi captaining the Lahore Qalandars and taking 14 wickets in nine matches at an average of 22.14 and an economy rate of 8.61.
As for Naseem, he represented Islamabad United, who won PSL 9, and claimed 15 wickets in 11 games at an average of 22.20 and an economy rate of 7.56.
