Legendary Pakistan fast bowler Waqar Younis has heaped praise on wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan’s captaincy skills, saying he is “a very good leader.”
Rizwan recently guided the Multan Sultans to the PSL final, but they came up short in their bid to be crowned champions as they lost to Islamabad United by two wickets.
The 31-year-old led by example throughout PSL 9 as he scored 407 runs in 12 matches, which included four fifties, at an average of 33.91 and a strike-rate of 122.22.
In addition to leading from the front, Waqar also lauded Rizwan for always having a smile on his face, which he feels has earned him a lot of respect from other players.
“Rizwan always has a big smile on his face. Doesn’t matter who is winning or losing, that’s him. Players respect that and I think to gain respect, you must have that big smile on your face. He’s a very good leader,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion.
