Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan admitted that the franchise needed an experienced player like spin-bowling all-rounder Imad Wasim for the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
He noted that Imad contributes in all departments as he is a highly skilled left-arm spinner and can be a handy batsman as well.
So far, the 35-year-old has taken seven wickets in 10 matches at an average of 29.28 and an economy rate of 6.83.
Imad has also scored 48 runs at an average of eight and a strike-rate of 117.07.
While he hasn’t done as well as expected so far, Shadab has backed Imad to prove his worth as PSL 9 goes on.
“The kind of experience Imad has is what we needed. His arrival will further enhance our combination. When we both play together, our batting depth will increase, and we’ll have more bowling options,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
