Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan has admitted that acquiring spin-bowling all-rounder Imad Wasim and fast bowling brothers Naseem Shah, Hunain Shah and Ubaid Shah were “a huge boost for the franchise.”
Imad brings a wealth of experience, while Naseem has become one of Pakistan’s pace leaders in all three formats.
As for Hunain and Ubaid, both of them are seen as up-and-coming pace prospects who could go on to have highly successful careers.
To have players of such high quality in the Islamabad United squad is a dream come true for Shadab.
“The additions of Imad Wasim and the Shah brothers are a huge boost for the franchise,” he was quoted as saying by respected journalist Saj Sadiq on X, formerly known as Twitter.
So far, Imad has taken two wickets in five matches at an average of 57.50 and an economy rate of 7.66, while Naseem has claimed seven wickets at an average of 22.57 and an economy rate of 7.90.
As for Hunain, he has picked up two wickets in three games at an average of 39.50 and an economy rate of 9.87.
Ubaid, meanwhile, has gone wicketless in the two matches he has played.
