Mike Hesson: “All his domestic performances and the National T20 cup suggested he was going really nicely and someone who could be used in the middle and at the back end”

Islamabad United head coach Mike Hesson said one of the reasons the team signed Hunain Shah, the brother of Pakistan fast bowling star Naseem Shah, was his ability to bowl in the middle and death overs.
Hunain has been a strong performer in domestic cricket and was picked up alongside Naseem and his other brother, Ubaid, for the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
So far, the 20-year-old has featured in one match, where he finished with figures of 1-13 off two overs.
Knowing the potential Hunain possesses, Hesson could utilise him more often as the tournament progresses.
“We felt he (Hunain Shah) was the best prepared to step into a playing 11 if required. From a bowling point of view, all his domestic performances and the National T20 cup suggested he was going really nicely and someone who could be used in the middle and at the back end,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
