Mohammad Rizwan: “He has something different”

Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan believes opening batsman Saim Ayub “has something different” to offer and is the real deal.
This comes at a time where Ayub has failed to impress in international cricket, particularly in T20Is, where he has amassed 162 runs in 12 matches at an average of 14.72 and a strike-rate of 124.61.
The 21-year-old recently played in the five-match T20I series against New Zealand and performed poorly as he mustered 39 runs in four games at an average of 9.75 and a strike-rate of 130.
Nonetheless, Rizwan thinks there is something special about the Karachi native and has backed him to enjoy a lot of success.
“He has something different,” the 31-year-old was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
Ayub is now representing the Peshawar Zalmi in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), while Rizwan is captaining the Multan Sultans.
PSL 9 began on February 17 and will be held until March 18 in four cities – Lahore, Multan, Karachi and Rawalpindi.
