South Africa batting sensation Dewald Brevis confirmed that Pakistan superstar Babar Azam is his favourite player.
Brevis was asked the question while playing for MI Cape Town in the SA20 tournament.
The 20-year-old Johannesburg-born cricketer scored 150 runs in 10 matches, which included a top score of 66 not out, at an average of 18.75 and a strike-rate of 140.18.
As for Azam, he has been trying to rediscover his form after going through a rough patch for a few months.
The 29-year-old failed to have much of an impact in Pakistan’s three-match Test series against Australia as he was restricted to 126 runs at an average of 21.
He had a much better showing in the five-match T20I series against New Zealand as he accumulated 213 runs, which included three fifties, at an average of 42.60 and a strike-rate of 142.
Azam’s next assignment will be the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he will captain the Peshawar Zalmi.
PSL 9 will be played from February 17 to March 18 in four cities – Lahore, Multan, Karachi and Rawalpindi.
