New Zealand pace bowler Lockie Ferguson said Pakistan top order batsman Fakhar Zaman probably enjoys batting on grounds with shorter boundaries as he is known for hitting big sixes.

Zaman recently played against New Zealand in a five-match T20I series and amassed 126 runs, which included a top score of 50, at an average of 25.20 and a strike-rate of 165.78.

In those five games, the 33-year-old from Mardan struck seven boundaries and 11 sixes.

“Probably Fakhar enjoys the shorter boundaries,” Ferguson was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

Zaman’s next assignment will be the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he will represent the Lahore Qalandars, who have won the last two editions of the tournament.

PSL 9 will be played from February 17 to March 18 in four cities – Lahore, Multan, Karachi and Rawalpindi.
