Legendary Pakistan power-hitter Shahid Afridi believes fast bowler Aamer Jamal “is an excellent addition to the side.”
Jamal recently made his Test debut in the three-match series against Australia and put on a show to remember as he took 18 wickets at an average of 20.44.
The 27-year-old from Mianwali also scored 143 runs, which included a top score of 82, at an average of 28.60.
Having seen very encouraging signs from Jamal, Afridi wants the men in green to keep picking him going forward.
“Going to reserve my views on our team’s performance but for sure Aamer Jamal is an excellent addition to the side,” he said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
After an outstanding performance against Australia, Jamal was involved in Pakistan’s five-match T20I series against New Zealand and picked up one wicket in two games at an average of 97 and an economy rate of 12.12.
He will now represent the Peshawar Zalmi in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), which gets underway on February 17.
