Nasser Hussain, the former England captain, said up-and-coming Pakistan fast bowler Zaman Khan offers something different as his bowling action makes it difficult for batsmen to see what’s coming next.
Zaman has represented Pakistan in six T20Is to date and taken four wickets at an average of 32.50 and an economy rate of 6.66.
He also made his ODI debut during the Asia Cup, but went wicketless.
Aside from these international matches, the 22-year-old has been involved in multiple T20 leagues, including the Vitality Blast in England and the Global T20 Canada.
Having seen the Mirpur native in action, Hussain is excited about what the future holds for the talented youngster.
“Love his character, love his action. Something different. A nightmare to pick up as a batter,” he was quoted as saying by respected journalist Saj Sadiq on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Pakistan are currently playing in the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup in India, but Zaman wasn’t picked in the squad.
The men in green started their campaign on a high as they beat the Netherlands and Sri Lanka.
However, things went downhill from there as they lost three games in a row to India, Australia and Afghanistan.
Looking to get things back on track, Pakistan’s next match will be against South Africa on October 27 in Chennai.
