Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman and Multan Sultans captain Mohammad Rizwan said Sohaib Maqsood “wasn’t getting enough of a hit” during the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

As a result, a decision was made to promote Maqsood up to number three on the batting line-up, and the move paid dividends as he was one of the Sultans’ top performers.

Maqsood scored 428 runs in 12 games, which included five half-centuries, at an average of 47.55 and a strike-rate of 156.77.

“With Maqsood we felt he wasn’t getting enough of a hit and then we decided to push him up and it’s paid off,” Rizwan was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
