Former Pakistan all-rounder Yasir Arafat said power-hitter Mohammad Hafeez still has a lot more to give.

This comes after Hafeez announced that it had been 18 years since he made his international debut for Pakistan way back in 2003.

He thanked everyone who has supported him throughout his cricketing career, which is still going strong.

Hafeez ended 2020 as the highest run-scorer in T20 Internationals with 415 runs in 10 games, which includes four fifties, at an average of 83 and a strike-rate of 152.57.

Most recently, the 40-year-old was the sixth-highest run-scorer in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) with 181 runs in four matches for the Lahore Qalandars, which included two fifties, at an average of 90.50 and a strike-rate of 175.72.

Yasir noted that “Pakistan has benefitted” from Hafeez’s “hard work and integrity”.

“Congrats Hafeez bhai. Pakistan has benefitted a lot from your hard work and integrity. MashaAllah it’s been a successful career and you still have a lot more to give,” he said on Twitter.

Hafeez is currently with the Pakistan team on their tour of South Africa and Zimbabwe.

Both Tests will take place at the same venue, with the first match starting on April 29 and the second Test getting underway on May 7.
