Pakistan limited overs captain Babar Azam revealed that his predecessor Sarfaraz Ahmed and veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik have helped him so much.

Azam recalled how he had a problem converting scores of “60s and 80s into [hundreds]”, but he was given a helping hand by many of the senior players in the squad, including Sarfaraz and Malik.

The 25-year-old noted that he no longer faces that problem and now looks to learn as much as possible whenever he spends time with experienced players.

“Earlier, I faced problems in converting 60s and 80s into [hundreds] but now you can see me scoring triple figures consistently. Players like you [Malik], Sarfaraz Ahmed had helped me out a lot and I try to learn every time I spend time [with] seniors,” Azam said during an Instagram live session with veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik as quoted by Ary Sports.

Azam is now preparing for the upcoming series against England, where he is expected to play a crucial role with the bat during the Test series. After that, he will captain Pakistan in the T20 series.

Pakistan are scheduled to play three Tests and three T20 Internationals against England, with the first Test starting on August 5 and the T20 series beginning on August 28.
