Pakistan left-arm seamer Junaid Khan believes the national team’s pace bowlers will struggle during the upcoming series against England.
Explaining why, Junaid pointed to the saliva ban that was implemented as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Juanid noted that since the Pakistan bowlers tend to rely on reverse swing and take wickets when the ball gets older, the upcoming series against England will be a big test for them.
“Both sides will have difficulty if there is no reverse swing on offer due to the saliva ban. However, our bowlers are likely to struggle more,” Junaid told Cricket Pakistan. “(James) Anderson bowls well with the new ball and his reverse swing is not that good. Similarly, (Stuart) Broad and (Jofra) Archer’s reverse swing is not as effective as our bowlers.”
Pakistan are scheduled to play three Tests and three T20 Internationals against England, with the first Test starting on August 5 and the T20 series beginning on August 28.
