Legendary Pakistan batsman Javed Miandad believes that Sarfaraz Ahmed shouldn’t have been dropped from the Twenty20 squad.
Miandad’s comments about Sarfaraz deserving to keep his place in the Twenty20 team comes after Pakistan were beaten 2-0 by Australia.
It was Babar Azam’s first series as Twenty20 captain, a role he was given after Sarfaraz was stripped of it and the Test captaincy.
Sarfaraz was also dropped for the tour of Australia, which will also consist of two Tests that will run from November 21 to December 3.
“I cannot understand on what basis Sarfraz was sacked from the team. As a player Sarfraz would have scored coming in at No. 7 or 8. As a senior and experienced player his advice could have proven useful in the games,” Miandad said on his YouTube channel as quoted by the Business Recorder.
