Legendary Pakistan pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar believes that wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal should have been included in the squad for the upcoming Twenty20 series against Australia.
There were a number of surprises when Pakistan unveiled their squads for the three-match Twenty20 and two-Test series, which will take place from November 3 to December 3.
However, Akhtar was pleased with the bowling attack Pakistan chose for the series, which includes the uncapped pace duo of Naseem Shah, who is just 16, and 19-year-old Muhammad Musa.
“This is a very tough tour. We’ve never been able to win a series in Australia. The PCB has done progressive thinking by selecting a right squad for the series,” he said on his YouTube channel as quoted by the Business Recorder. “I’m not talking about the batting (line-up) as I’m not fully satisfied with it. I believe Kamran Akmal is a top T20 batsman and should have been selected in the team.”
