Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Rashid Latif believes a major blunder was committed in regards to not picking Kamran Akmal for the upcoming Twenty20 series against Australia.
Latif feels that Akmal should have replaced Sarfaraz for the series after the latter was dropped and sacked as Test and Twenty20 captain.
Instead, Pakistan selected Mohammad Rizwan as their go-to keeper for the tour of Australia, which will consist of three Twenty20 Internationals from November 3 to 8, and two Tests from November 21 to December 3.
“If Sarfaraz was not selected, then Kamran Akmal would have been his ideal replacement in T20 cricket,” Latif was quoted as saying by the Business Recorder. “If we are going there (Australia) to win the T20 series, then not picking Kamran Akmal is a blunder.”
