Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Rashid Latif believes that newly-appointed Twenty20 captain Babar Azam is “not a natural leader”.
Azam replaced Sarfaraz Ahmed as Twenty20 captain, while Azhar Ali took over as Test skipper.
Latif is also concerned about the fact that Azam doesn’t have a lot of experience when it comes to captaining a team.
“Babar is not a natural leader, as captains are born not prepared. Previously Sarfaraz, Misbah-ul-Haq, Younis Khan and others had all been captaining their regions or departments, unlike Babar. I feel Babar should have been prepared keeping in mind the future of Pakistan cricket, but like I said, the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) doesn’t have any future plans or any strategy,” Latif told The Nation.
