Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed could be dropped for the two-Test series against Australia from November 21 to December 3.
According to the Business Recorder, if Sarfaraz is removed from the Test squad, Mohammad Rizwan or Adnan Akmal could replace him behind the stumps.
It is understood that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ehsan Mani will ask Sarfaraz to step down as Test captain when they meet next week to discuss a host of important issues. Rumours suggest that Azhar Ali could replace Sarfaraz as skipper in the longest format.
Prior to the two-Test series, Pakistan will play three Twenty20 Internationals against Australia from November 3 to 8.
