Pakistan head coach and chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq has confirmed that Sarfraz Ahmed’s future as captain still hangs in the balance as it is currently being reviewed.

As reported by Geo News, Misbah, who was appointed to the dual role on Wednesday, made the comments about Sarfraz at a pre-season training camp.

There has been a tremendous amount of speculation about Sarfraz’s future as captain following Pakistan’s failure to reach the semi-finals at the World Cup.

Some reports indicate that he will be retained, while others state he will lead Pakistan in fewer formats or be stripped of the captaincy entirely.

  1. Misbah could have been either head coach or chief selector but not both. It’s a bad decision by PCB
