Legendary batsman Javed Miandad feels it was a mistake to appoint Misbah-ul-Haq as Pakistan’s head coach.

Miandad feels that Misbah, who was also named chief selector, doesn’t have enough experience for the head coach role.

With that in mind, Miandad pointed out that Misbah should have instead been made an assistant coach in order to enhance his knowledge about the intricacies of coaching an international side.

“If the PCB wanted to benefit from Misbah’s expertise, he should have been appointed as an assistant coach to a senior coach, to learn the job and then be promoted at a later date,” Miandad was quoted as saying by Saj Sadiq on Twitter.
