Legendary Pakistan batsman Zaheer Abbas firmly believes that Sarfraz Ahmed should be stripped of the Test captaincy.

Abbas feels that Sarfraz is overburdened as he has to lead Pakistan in all three formats, while also fulfilling his duties as a wicketkeeper and batsman.

There has been a lot of speculation over whether Sarfraz will continue on as captain, especially after the men in green narrowly missed out on qualifying for the World Cup semi-finals.

Some reports indicate that he will be stripped of the captaincy completely, while others state that he will lead Pakistan in fewer formats.

“The captaincy of all three formats had resulted in the downfall of Sarfraz’s performance, therefore he must be [removed as] Test [captain],” Abbas was quoted as saying by the Business Recorder.

  1. I agree with Zaheer Abbas. However, want to add that just see the below average performance of Sarfaraz in all the games he has played as a captain. He does not deserve to be in the team at all let alone leading the team.

    • I agree with you Rashid. I think it’s time to give Mohammad Rizwan a chance as Pakistan’s wicketkeeper and batsman.
