Australia built a 283-run lead on the second day at Headingley after Josh Hazlewood carved through England’s batting line-up with a five-wicket haul.
Starting off the day trailing by 179 runs, England lost opener Jason Roy in the fourth over as he was caught by David Warner at first slip off the bowling of Hazlewood for nine runs.
England captain Joe Root failed to trouble the scorers as he too was caught by Warner at first slip off the bowling of Hazlewood.
Rory Burns only made nine runs before he was caught behind off the bowling of Pat Cummins, while Ben Stokes was sent packing by James Pattinson after scoring just eight runs.
Joe Denly was the only England batsman to reach double figures as he was caught behind off the bowling of Pattinson for 12 runs.
Jonny Bairstow was Hazlewood’s next victim, while Chris Woakes was caught behind off the bowling of Cummins for five runs.
Hazlewood then took out Jos Buttler for five runs, while Jofra Archer suffered the same fate as Woakes.
England ended up being bowled out for 67, which was their worst score in the Ashes since making 52 at The Oval in 1948.
Hazlewood was the pick of the bowlers with five wickets, while Cummins snapped up three and Pattinson chipped in with two.
With a 112-run lead in hand, Australia’s second innings didn’t start well as Warner was given out lbw off the bowling of Stuart Broad for a duck.
Marcus Harris mustered 19 runs before he was clean bowled by Jack Leach.

Wade ended up making 33 before he was caught behind off the bowling of Stokes, while captain Tim Paine was dismissed by Broad for a duck.
Labuschagne and Pattinson managed to amass an unbeaten seven-run partnership before stumps was called.
Labuschagne finished on 53, which came off 139 balls and included five boundaries, while Pattinson remained undefeated on two.
Broad and Stokes took two wickets apiece, while Woakes and Leach claimed one wicket each.
Australia ended day two on 171/6 and will continue batting on Saturday at 11:00 local time or 10:00 GMT.
