Former Pakistan captain Aamir Sohail has admitted that it is impossible to replace Sarfraz Ahmed as captain since no one has been groomed to take over the leadership role.

Sohail noted that Pakistan doesn’t have a proper vice-captain, which leaves them with a lack of candidates that can become future captains.

Sohail’s comments come after there has been a lot of speculation about Sarfraz’s future as captain following Pakistan’s failure to qualify for the World Cup semi-finals.

Some reports indicate he will be stripped of the captaincy entirely, while others state he will lead Pakistan in fewer formats.

“Who has been groomed to replace Sarfraz?” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion. “There has been no vice-captain in place; with whom will you replace Sarfraz? For this reason I am emphasising that first the PCB has to put its house in order.”
